Frequently Asked Questions
Is The Yutzy School accredited?
The Yutzy School is a private Christian school operating legally in the state of Kansas.
We are not state-accredited, which gives us the freedom to use high-quality Christian curricula, maintain small class sizes, and design a learning experience centered on character, hands-on projects, and Biblical truth.
Our graduates are well equipped for whatever comes next—pursuing college, a vocation, or other future callings. Our goal is to ensure each student leaves TYS confident in their abilities and strong in character.
Do you accept students mid-year?

Yes! We welcome new students throughout the year as long as space is available.
Our small class sizes make it easy to help new students adjust quickly and feel at home from day one.
What grade levels do you offer?

We serve students Kindergarten through 12th grade.
Our multi-age classrooms allow students to learn at the level that fits them best—academically, socially, and spiritually.

We offer:
• Lower School (ages 6-10) – foundational skills, joyful learning, hands-on projects
• Middle School (ages 11-13) – growing independence, collaboration, real-world application

• Upper School (14-17) – advanced coursework, leadership development, individualized pathways

Because of our small class sizes and personalized instruction, students flourish across grade levels and move confidently toward graduation.
What curriculum do you use?
Because we believe no two children are the same, we intentionally reject the one-size-fits-all approach so common in many schools. Instead, we embrace mastery-based learning—students advance when they have genuinely mastered the material, not when a calendar tells them to move on.

While we subscribe to several foundational curricula, we draw from a wide range of high-quality Christian and academically strong resources to meet each student’s individual needs.

Some of our core resources include:
• The Good and the Beautiful (language arts, math, history, science, art)
• Teaching Textbooks (math)
• Simply Charlotte Mason (history, Bible, enrichment)
• Ministry to Children (Bible lessons)

We also incorporate supplemental programs that strengthen academic growth and spark curiosity, such as:
• Rocket Math
• Lalilo
• KiwiCo
• MEL Science
• CrunchLabs
• Tuttle Twins Academy
• Science Mom
• Math Dad
• Additional hands-on, project-based learning resources
At TYS, our philosophy is simple: “find a way” to help every student thrive.

This blended approach—supported by multi-age instruction and personalized teaching—ensures that each child receives a rich, well-rounded education academically, spiritually, and creatively.
What is your daily schedule like?

Our school day begins with a morning rally—a time of prayer, scripture, encouragement, and community. Students then move into focused core academic work, where individualized instruction and mastery-based learning take center stage.

After a short break, students participate in Bible classes and a rotating schedule of history, geography, science, music, art, and hands-on discovery projects. This balance of structure and creativity allows students to learn deeply while staying engaged and joyful.

Why We Structure Tuition This Way
We believe God gives parents the primary responsibility for educating their children, and The Yutzy School exists to come alongside families—not replace them. When parents actively partner with the school, students benefit from stronger relationships, clearer communication, and a united learning environment where they can truly thrive.

Our Parent Partner Program reflects this philosophy. By serving just four hours per week, parents help strengthen our school community, reduce operating costs, and make it possible for us to offer an academically rich, Christ-centered education at a tuition rate that remains accessible for families.

This partnership model is one of the reasons The Yutzy School is able to provide extraordinary value while keeping Christ, the family, and excellence at the center of everything we do.
Is financial assistance available?

Yes. Through the Yutzy School Foundation, families may apply for limited scholarships to help reduce tuition costs further.
