Miss Shaina
Shaina Esh
Teacher
For Miss Shaina, the joy of teaching comes from investing in what truly matters. “Whether it’s teaching them to read or showing them God’s love,” she says, “passing on things that will help students for the rest of their lives is very fulfilling.”
Although born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Miss Shaina has called Garnett home for the past 22 years. With a heart for students and a love for learning, she brings a diverse background in education and a deep passion for encouraging young minds.

Shaina’s teaching journey has taken her across cultures and classrooms. She began by teaching 2nd through 4th grade while serving in Central America—an experience that deepened her love for education and broadened her perspective. After returning to Kansas, she worked as a paraeducator in the local public school system, gaining valuable insight into diverse learning needs. Over the past several years, she has continued to teach in the Garnett-area homeschool co-op, offered private tutoring, and successfully launched a Homeschool Hybrid Class, which she continues to lead with enthusiasm.

At The Yutzy School, she is especially excited to connect with students and help spark a love of learning in their hearts.

Outside the classroom, Shaina enjoys reading great books, dabbling in poetry and creative writing, and more recently, exploring the art of crocheting. A favorite scripture of hers is Isaiah 40:31:

“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint."
