Mrs. Berry
Carla Berry
Teacher
With decades of ministry, teaching, and mentoring experience, Mrs. Carla Berry brings a heart for Christ, a love for children, and a passion for lifelong learning to The Yutzy School. She is committed to helping students grow in wisdom, character, and academic excellence while pointing them to the truth of God's Word.
Mrs. Berry brings a lifetime of ministry, education, and service to the classroom. She earned her bachelor’s degree in counseling and biblical studies from Oak Hills Bible College and holds a current Kansas Substitute Teacher License. Throughout the past school year, she served as a substitute teacher in both Anderson County Schools and Crest Schools, working with students from preschool through high school.
For more than 36 years, Mrs. Berry and her husband, Ray, have faithfully served with Village Missions, ministering in churches across four states. During that time, she has taught Bible studies, mentored women, youth, and children, and served in numerous church leadership roles. Her passion for helping others grow—both academically and spiritually—is evident in everything she does.
Originally from Michigan's Upper Peninsula, Mrs. Berry grew up enjoying snowy winters filled with skiing, skating, hockey, and snowmobiling. Today, however, she's happy to call Kansas home! She and Ray have been married for nearly 38 years and are blessed with three grown children and two granddaughters.
When asked what excites her most about joining The Yutzy School, Mrs. Berry shared that she immediately noticed the love, respect, joy, and Christ-centered atmosphere among the staff and students. She especially enjoys watching children master challenging concepts and then joyfully teach others what they've learned—a beautiful picture of true learning.
Mrs. Berry's favorite Bible verse is Isaiah 26:3:
"You will keep him in perfect peace,
whose mind is stayed on you,
because he trusts in you."
She also loves reading God's Word, making music, cheering for the Green Bay Packers, and finds great inspiration in the life of Queen Esther, whose courage and faith continue to encourage her.
Mrs. Berry looks forward to partnering with parents, staff, and students as together we help children grow in wisdom, knowledge, character, and a lifelong love for the Lord.
